what is inner healing?
When I first encountered God in 2019, I felt him really begin to press on me ‘this is where the healing begins’ over and over. At the time, it felt as though a random memory would bubble up in me and I would feel it as though I couldn’t let it remain unresolved in me.
When something remains unresolved in us; it keeps our mind looping on past hurts, regrets or fears. People normally remain unresolved due to avoidance of facing pain, guilt, or shame because it’s uncomfortable.
The only way I truly found resolve was when I brought these old memories to Jesus. What does it mean to bring things to Jesus? Don’t overthink what this looks like—it’s as literal as what I am saying it is. A memory would pop up and I would go sit on my knees in my room and ask God to show me what I needed back in this memory. I would ask “where were you in this God?” and He was faithful to reveal himself to me. He would restore that little girl version of me and then it would automatically restore the adult version of me too.
At the time, I had no idea that this was a thing called: INNER HEALING.
Inner healing is when Jesus meets you in the places where your heart was wounded and brings truth, peace, and freedom where pain used to live.
It’s not just "getting over it." It’s letting God into it. It’s about healing the parts of your soul(your mind, will, and emotions) that were shaped by:
trauma
rejection
abuse
fear
abandonment
word curses
heartbreak
or anything that taught you to survive instead of thrive
Because salvation gets you to Heaven….but inner healing helps you live in freedom on Earth. You were made to know wholeness & fullness in your soul.
Many people love God but still:
struggle with shame
overreact emotionally
feel stuck in the same patterns
believe lies about their identity
shut down or numb their pain
That’s not a lack of faith…it’s a sign of unhealed wounds.
Jesus didn’t just come to forgive our sin-He came to bind up the brokenhearted (Isaiah 61:1). Inner healing is part of the full Gospel.
Here’s how it happens:
Recognize the wound, memory, pain: What happened? What belief did it create? How did it shape how you live?
Bring it to Jesus: Ask Him, “Where were You when that happened?” “What did I need in this moment?” Let Him speak truth where a lie was planted.
Forgive, release, and receive: Forgive the person (or yourself), break agreement with the lie, and receive God’s truth in that place. (This is a process)
At the start of 2026, I’ll be releasing something to help people walk from wounded to whole and from fragile to full. If you’ve felt like your soul needs reconciliation—like parts of you are still tied to the past—this will be for you. Until then, my prayer is that you begin experiencing the freedom that comes when you let Jesus into the places you’ve kept hidden.
Because healing doesn’t start when you finally get over it. Healing begins when you invite Him into it.
My hope is to see you resolved in the areas within your heart that have felt tied to the past.
